Forest Guardians Camp

$248.00

Deep in the Old Growth Forest, where the Spotted Owl swoops down over the Giant Pacific Salamanders and the ever elusive Grey Fox, we will practice the art of invisibility through camouflage of the body and stillness of the mind, exploring games that sharpen our senses – listen like the deer, smell like the wolf, see like the eagle, and stalk like the cougar. We will deepen our awareness of the native flora, the fauna, and people who have inhabited this land for thousands of years before most of our Grandfather’s Grandmothers came to settle.  We will learn the basics of ethically wildcrafting for food and medicine, build shelters, practice archery and knife work, swim in the ponds and finish our week with a visit to the neighboring farm, where we will milk the cows (or goats) to make the freshest ice cream imaginable! Families are invited to join us for ice cream and storytelling at the end of the last day.

Each year of camp is specifically tailored to meet the needs and enthusiasm of the present group; you can check out our Activities Page to see what sort of activities and curriculum inspire our camps.
