Wild Cats

Early Childhood is naturally a time of great wonder and enchantment.  Wildcats is a nature program designed to nurture the qualities that allow us to perceive the world in this way.  We will begin our days with a period of recuperation from a long day at school.  We share a quiet picnic under the trees, taking rest as we gaze at the clouds and listen to a story.  Once we are fully recharged we will play an active game and set out on our daily adventure, exploring the yards and gardens, hidden meadows, and forests of the surrounding neighborhood, eventually winding back to the school for our closing circle.

This term we will enjoy the bounties of the Fall harvest with special treats such as apple sauces and ciders, made from the generous donations of our neighbors trees.  New students will be introduced to important plants to look out for, both poisonous and medicinal and learn to identify them without the telltale leaves, we learn them by in the Spring.  We call call forth all the monsters of mud to come join us as we dance through the puddles and the trees! (Gathering and Pick Up will be at the Eugene Waldorf School (Enrollment is open to EWS and non-EWS students in Lane County).
